Centuries of botanical knowledge. Distilled into six formulas. From bamboo forests to camellia groves, Kōen draws from plants that have been perfecting themselves long before we thought to use them. KŌEN From the ground up.

The brief was simple: create a hotel amenity brand that guests would actually remember. Most hotel toiletries are forgettable by design — functional, generic, interchangeable. Kōen was conceived as the opposite. A collection rooted in six Asian botanicals — bamboo, green tea, hinoki cypress, camellia, white birch, rice bran — each chosen not for how they sound, but for what they have been doing for centuries. Each formula has its own bottle colour, drawn from the botanical it contains — from deep forest green to dusty slate blue. The bottle is the first signal of what's inside. The campaign, "From the ground up," was built around one idea: that the most effective ingredients are the ones that have existed longest.
